Budget & Finances

The annual timeline for developing the school district's budget is:

• July 1: Beginning of the fiscal year
• August-October: Independent firm audits school district finances
• September: School Board adopts a preliminary levy for property taxes payable the following calendar year
• November-December: Annual Audit Report to the School Board
• December: Annual Truth in Taxation Hearing and School Board adoption of the next year's final property tax levy
• February-April: Budget development work
• March: Deadline for retirement notifications
• March-April: Communication with staff about next year's assignments
• June: School Board adopts final budget
